Welcome to the webpage of the 9th International Conference on Sewer Processes and Networks (SPN9). SPN9 is being organised by the Sewer Processes and Networks Research Group at Aalborg University. The event will be held in Aalborg, Denmark, in late august 2019. This will be the third time the conference is held in Aalborg. The conference is an IWA sponsored event and is organised by members of IWA’s Sewer Systems & Processes working group (SSPWG). The number of attendees is typically around 100-150.
The conference will be held at Musikkens Hus (the Music House), which is located on the waterfront in the centre of Aalborg. The Venue is designed by the Austrian architect Coop Himmelb(l)au and was opened to the public in 2014. Several hotels are located within walking distance of the conference venue.
The main themes of the conference are:
Aalborg is located in the northern part of the Jutland peninsula. It is the fourth most populous city in Denmark.
The place to visit in 2019! Aalborg is listed as #8 on the NY Times list of “52 places to go in 2019” (link).
Happy city. According to a recent EU report, Aalborg is home to the happiest citizens in Europe. Residents of 79 European cities were asked to rate their satisfaction with a number of aspects of their lives and quality of services in their city. The citizens of Aalborg reported a 99% rate of satisfaction - the highest in any of the cities.
